Barley (Hordeum vulgare) is one of the oldest domesticated crops, with evidence of cultivation by ancient residents of Ethiopia and South East Asia where it has been cultivated 10,000 years ago. Mostly used as a human and livestock food. Barley water was also used in medicinal purposes. Although commonly referred to beer making, barley is a versatile grain which can be used in many shapes and recipes.
