With a light hazelnut flavour and high nutritional content, these sprouts are particularly suitable for a high-protein diet. Attention should be paid to the germination time which is 3-4 days and after which the seeds tend to become too floury, fragile and facilitate the onset of mold. To ensure better digestibility and full legumes flavour, chickpea sprouts should be steamed only for a few minutes before being consumed in order to retain most of enzymes and vitamins.
Soak in water for 8 hours. Rinse them and arrange on the appropriate surface like sprouter tray or sprouting jar allowing seed to increase their volume at least 4 times. Germination takes between 4 to 6 days after wihich they can be consumed immediately or stored in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.
