The fennel sprout has a slow but abundant growth of very long, green and thin shoots and has the unmistakable flavor of the actual vegetable. At the time of harvesting, the fennel will still have the seed integuments or outer layer, which can be safely consumed together with the sprout. It's great for adding flavour to any salad or other dishes.
Soak in water for minimum 8 hours, preferably overnight. Rinse them and arrange on the appropriate surface like sprouter tray or sprouting jar allowing seed to increase their volume at least 4 times. Germination takes between 10 to 14 days after wihich they can be consumed immediately or stored in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.
