Freeze-dried strawberries are real treat. Lyophilisation is state of the art process of food preservation in which all of the nutrients are preserved. Unlike conventional dehydration, where berries can degrade in quality as their structure is very delicate and contains high levels of moisture, lyophilisation is a low temperature dehydration process that involves freezing the product, lowering pressure, then removing the ice by sublimation. Final product is preserved berries with all of the retained nutrients, colour, flavour and shape of fresh berries.
These berries can be enjoyed just as they are, mixed with other nuts in a trail mix or simply added to favourite breakfast.
