Ghee is 100% clarified butter obtained from cow's milk. Traditionally used in India for millennia as a traditional cooking ingredient and also has been used in Ayurvedic medicine due to its tasty flavour and impressive nutrient profile. In a nutshell, Ghee butter is a product of cooking butter at a low temperature until it becomes clarified. Having one of the highest smoke points of 250°C, ghee is the ideal fat for frying.
Unlike regular butter, ghee does not contain milk protein casein and lactose, hence suitable for individuals suffering from a dairy allergy.
In addition, ghee is shelf-stable meaning that you can keep it on your counter or in your pantry at room temperature.
