While these hormones can provide a dose of "adrenaline" that will help you win a race or help you do something important to you within a certain time, they create toxins in large quantities and slow down the detoxification of enzymes in the liver. Yoga and meditation are simple and effective ways to relieve stress by resetting your physical and mental reactions to the inevitable life stress.

10 top ways to detoxify your body

After a detox program, you can cleanse your body daily with these diets, supplements or a new lifestyle:

  1. Eat plenty of fibre, including brown rice and organically grown fresh fruits and vegetables. Beets, radishes, artichokes, cabbage, broccoli, spirulina and chlorella (algae are an excellent detoxifying food).
  2. Cleanse and protect your liver by taking herbs such as dandelion, burdock and milk thistle, and drink plenty of green tea.
  3. Take vitamin C, which helps the body produce glutathione, a compound inside the liver that removes toxins.
  4. Drink at least two litres of water per day.
  5. Breathe deeply so that oxygen can circulate throughout your system.
  6. Don't let stress develop by emphasizing positive emotions.
  7. Try hydrotherapy, showering with very hot water for 5 minutes, letting the water run down your back and then shower with cold water for 30 seconds. Do this three times and then rest for about 30 minutes.
  8. Go to the sauna so your body can eliminate bad radicals through sweat.
  9. Exfoliate your skin and feet to remove toxins from your pores.
  10. And in our opinion, the most important way to detoxify is exercise (walking, pilates, yoga, etc.). One hour every day, or at least a few times a week.
