Black mustard seed for sprouts produces shoots with dark green leaves and a strong, pungent flavour. Due to its particular flavour profile, it is recommended to consume them mixed with other varieties or add them to lighter meals in order to balance flavours.

Suggested use:

Soak in water overnight. The next morning arrange them on the appropriate surface like sprouter tray or sprouting jar allowing the seed to increase its volume at least 4 times. Keep at room temperature and in good light conditions. Wet 2-3 times a day until complete germination occurs in 4-5 days. They can be consumed immediately or stored in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks.

Ingredients:

Black mustard seed (Sinapis alba) for sprouts from controlled organic agriculture

Great quality, but the instructions on the bag are wrong. They can't be sprouted like alfalfa or mung beans. Mustard seeds have mucus like flax seeds and chia seeds. 1. Soak them for ten hours. 2. Drain off as much water as you can. (There will be a lot left in the mucus around the seeds). 3. Spread out the slimy seeds on a kitchen towel and let them start growing there. 4. When they have started growing the mucus is gone. You can now put them in a jar and rinse them like other sprouts.
