If you can't have enough of parmesan, and you add it to all pasta dishes, a healthier vegan version is an ingredient that you should definitely add to your diet!
With only four required ingredients, and nutritional yeast having the main role, this recipe is surely worth trying. Unlike regular yeast which is traditionally used in bread making, nutritional yeast is inactive, meaning that will not react and expand in moist and heat.
Nutritional yeast is made from primary inactive yeast by cultivating single-celled organism, fungi Saccharomyces Cerevisiae on molasses substrate. After fungi have been rinsed and dried, yeast flakes are sold as a final product.
Thanks to inactivation, this yeast can be used by all persons who are not allowed to consume foods that contain yeast and who are struggling with candida. In addition, vegans and vegetarians will honour the fact that dietary yeast contains all 9 essential amino acids making it a complete protein.
Nutritional yeast is added to various hot and cold dishes such as soups, stews, sauces and pasta dishes.
Nutritional yeast is free of gluten, lactose and palm oil and especially popular vegan food due to its cheesy, nutty flavour which immensely reminiscent of grated cheese parmesan.
