Brewer's yeast flakes are made from a yeast called Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which is inactivated by heat treatment and drying. Thus, brewer's yeast flakes are not suitable for fermentation, but due to their high protein, vitamin and mineral content, it is worth including them in the diet.

Brewer's yeast flakes are used primarily for flavouring. Due to its slightly reminiscent taste of parmesan cheese, it can be widely used for making pasta, soups, homemade breads and pastries, biscuits, salads.
