Coconut flour is obtained from dried and finely ground, defatted coconut meat at a low temperature.

It is a naturally gluten free source of healthy fats, protein and fibre often used in baking as a substitute for wheat or any other flour containing gluten.

Have in mind that when altering flour, coconut does not substitute for wheat flour in a 1:1 ratio. Therefore, conversion depending on the application and recipe is required. The reason lies in its mild flavour and its ability to absorb large quantities of liquid (due to fibre).
