Indigofera tinctoria is a plant whose leaves are blue (indigo). One of the oldest natural print and textile dyes - the first denim pants are colored indigo until the beginning 20th century and discoveries of synthetic blue. The name comes from the Latin term indicum, which would be mean "indian". 

Throughout history Indigo plant has been a highly prized raw material due to small percentage of colours that could have been extracted from the leaves. 

Suggested use:

Use 100 to 200g of natural dye powder depending on the hair length and desired effect. Apply in sections, starting from the back and rubbing into scalp in thick layer. Gather your hair and wrap in a plastic foil, rinsing your skin. Doing so, your hair will remain moist and absorb more color. Keep it on hair for up to 2 hours. 

  • 1/3 henna and 2/3 indigo = dark brown to black
  • 1/2 henna and 1/2 indigo = chestnut brown
  • 2/3 henna and 1/3 indigo = brown hazelnut
