Nutrigold nutritional yeast is made from primary inactive yeast by cultivating a single-celled organism, Saccharomyces Cerevisiae fungi, on a molasses substrate. Unlike regular yeast traditionally used in bread making, nutritional yeast is inactive, meaning it will not expand and foam in moisture and heat.

As its name suggests, nutritional yeast is very nutritious. This complete protein contains all nine essential amino acids that humans must get from food, providing a natural source of fibre and vitamin B that help combat deficiency in vegetarian and vegan diets.

This particularly popular condiment of vegan recipes gives them a cheesy, nutty flavour that is immensely reminiscent of grated cheese parmesan.
