Dating back to ancient Egypt where it was recognized as a natural remedy, particularly known in Ayurvedic medicine where it was traditionally used against lichen, acnes or as a laxative. Senna (Cassia obovata) grows as a shrub or smaller tree with bright yellow flowers in tropical and subtropical regions. 

Due to its similar effect on hair and scalp as henna, senna is also known as "colorless henna".

It gives volume to faded, oily and exhausted hair, making it thick and silky giving it a youthful golden color. Due to its excellent properties, it is extremely good against dandruff and an excellent hair and moisturizing conditioner, and can also be used to treat skin irritations and inflammation of the cuticle. Just one application is enough to see the difference. 

Senna is not a hair dye, but due to its mild yellow pigment mixed with lemon juice it is traditionally used to cover gray hair.

Suggested use:

By mixing henna and senna you can get a light brown, even pinkish-blonde shade (marigold blond).
Mix 1/4 henna and 3/4 senna. Add warm water and stir until you get a mixture similar to pancake dough. 

Apply on dry washed or slightly wet hair and wrap in a plastic foil. Let it sit for 3-4 hours.
