Cocoa beans are the fruit of the cocoa tree (Theobroma cacao) that originates from South America. Obtained from one of the most dominant varieties known as ''queen of cocoa'' - Criollo, Nutrigold cocoa beans are the product of the highest quality from controlled organic agriculture.

The cocoa tree has large fruits holding 20-60 cocoa beans each. After harvesting, cocoa beans go through the natural fermentation and drying process, after which cocoa beans are roasted. This process ensures a more pronounced chocolate flavour.

You probably already know that cocoa beans are used in the production of chocolate, but this is surely not the only purpose of this fascinating product. We recommend mixing them with fresh or dried fruit, nuts or as an addition to cakes, pies and desserts.

The slightly bitter taste of cocoa beans will pleasantly surprise you and complete every dessert you can imagine!
