Basmati brown rice is a type of long-grain rice, which originates from South Asia. The word basmati comes from Devanagari which in translation means fragrant. It is called the "queen of all rice" and the "queen of smells" and is an indispensable part of the daily diet for people in Pakistan and India.

What distinguishes it from integral rice is the quicker cooking time and a pleasant sweet floral aroma.
It is produced under controlled conditions and is 100% organic. Nutrigold basmati brown rice can be an excellent appetizer or main course.

If prepared as a savoury dish, it will be perfectly complemented by spices such as turmeric and garlic powder, and if mixed with milk and some fruit, it can be a quick and delicious dessert. It is suitable for a vegetarian and diabetic diet.

Suggested use:

Rinse well before using to wash away the starch. Use 1 part rice to 2 parts water. Bring to the boil and simmer gently for approximately 30 minutes without stirring.
