Nutrigold blue poppy seeds are nutritious seeds derived from organically grown poppy plants.

These small, round, and bluish seeds are big on nutritional value. Besides being rich in unsaturated (healthy) fats, they contain a lot of dietary fibre that adds bulk to your food and helps prevent and ease constipation. We should not forget to mention a high protein value that helps maintain muscle mass and normal bones.

Poppy seeds boast a mild flavour and are traditionally used in cookies, cakes, bread and muffins for flavour and texture. Dry roasting or grinding the seeds releases their fragrant oils and provides a much deeper flavour. When boiled with milk and ground into a paste, their unique flavours shine, a fact reflected by hundreds of years of culinary history in countries of Eastern Europe. 

Our recommendation? Nothing beats a classic pairing like poppy seed and lemon!

Suggested use:

Mix them into salad dressings, cereals or whole-wheat pancakes. Sprinkle them on top of dishes, and use them as a garnish or as a spice with savoury dishes.
