Wheat germ contains the most valuable part of the wheat grain that sprouts and grows into a new plant. Germs are obtained by grinding wheat and removed from most processed wheat products, although they are a major nutritional component of wholegrain wheat. With their aromatic, nutty taste, they are ideal for refining mueslis, smoothies and yoghurt and as a topping for soups and salads.
