Rarely has anyone not made or tasted fritters during the holidays or carnival season. This traditional dessert from the Croatian south can be made in million ways. Some prefer them with yoghurt, bananas and various toppings. Nevertheless, everyone adheres to the standard recipe, consisting of wheat flour, sugar and deep-frying resulting in an unhealthy and caloric bomb.
We've managed to find a substitute for those traditional fritters, a healthier substitute without eggs and milk so that all intolerant and vegans can enjoy these holidays.
Instructions:
You can garnish these healthier fritters with vanilla sugar, raisins and other dried berries or even a little grated apple for a final touch.
